Keeping our streets and water ways clean requires a community effort!

This April 18th, Steamboat Sustainable Business Consortium’s Gold-certified SSBC Member Pet Kare Clinic will host their annual April Stools Day, a day of volunteerism devoted to removing dog waste from commonly used dog walking areas to reduce pollutants entering the area’s surface and groundwaters.  It is estimated, based on the number of bags collected and the weight of each bag, that upwards of a ton of “poo” has been collected in one day’s event according to Lorna Hamilton, staffer and long time “poo picker”!  Volunteers are always needed and welcome.  Meet at noon on April 18th at Pet Kare Clinic (call first if weather is inclement).   Garbage bags, disposable gloves and comradery are provided free of charge!

If you want to join in, show up at 12pm on the 18th at Pet Kare Clinic (by Kum & Go) 879-5273.

If you like volunteering and cleaning up or need more community service hours, also sign up for the Community Clean-Up Day. More here.
