A talk on water with Stephen Grace
May 28, 2013
Colorado Mountain College Auditorium
Stephen Grace is a novelist and author of a narrative nonfiction book about urbanization in China. He is also the author of several books on Colorado. Stephen is currently consulting on the film DamNation that’s being produced by Yvon Chouinard and writing and producing a feature length documentary film on the past, present and future of water in the state of Colorado– with prominent coverage on the Yampa. Stephen is currently working on a book about the urban agriculture movement.
Stephen will be speaking about his latest book – Dam Nation, How Water Shaped the West and Will Determine Its Future. Dam Nation presents the history of water use in the West and the ongoing legal and moral battles over water in the West. The book is a finalist for the Colorado Book Award. A review of the book can be found in High Country News http://www.hcn.org/
In addition to Stephen’s talk, local water experts have been invited to host information tables about their companies and programs, which we hope will provide additional great input to the evenings discussions.
