On the heels of the most successful Economic Summit held by the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association that focused on Sustainability in May of 2007, YVSC hosted its first solo event, the Sustainability Summit in September 2008 at the Steamboat Grand Resort and Conference Center in Steamboat Springs. The event helps fulfill the education and outreach mission of the organization
Highlights of this event include:

Green building tour
The Sustainability Summit 2009 will focus will be on the “Solutions for a Changing World”, with focus on renewable energy, green building, transportation issues, zero-waste, carbon mitigation, energy efficiency, stimulus funding, and beyond.
4th Annual Green Building Tour
This year’s tour begins at the Library, which is going for LEED Silver designation. Attendees will get a tour of the new Library and will then board Go Alpine buses to three properties. As with previous years, there will be examples of a remodel, new construction, and under construction. Attendees will be able to interact with the builders, architects, trades and suppliers at each of the homes. Light snacks and transportation provided.
