“Le Ride” film retraces 1928 Tour de France

As part of the local Bike Week celebration, the Chief Theater is showing the documentary film Le Ride at 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 9. The Amazing Race’s Phil Keoghan recreates the original route of the 1928 Tour de France to tell an extraordinary story of achievement against the odds. Four intrepid young men from Australia and New Zealand were the first English speaking team to compete in what is arguably the world’s toughest sporting event. The team was undertrained, under-resourced, untested and unstoppable, despite being completely written off by the French media.

All proceeds from this exclusive screening support five local non-profits: Yampa Valley Sustainability Council, Routt County Riders, Partners, REPS and Steamboat Biketown USA. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased online at www.tourdesteamboat.com.
