Yampa Valley Sustainability Council

colorado carbon fund

The Colorado Carbon Fund (CCF) is a state of Colorado program that provides high quality carbon offsets to consumers as a way to support new energy efficiency and renewable energy projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in our state.  A consumer elects to donate to CCF as a way to offset the carbon that he emitted.  Project C

For example, Go Alpine offers voluntary offset options to its passengers traveling from Denver and Hayden Airports. Yampatika will be providing education and outreach to its patrons and offers the opportunity to offset carbon emissions from traveling. The City of Steamboat Springs will be encouraging public education at many of the City operated facilities.

Twenty percent of the CCF offset funds donated are tracked by zip code and returned to the local community to be reinvested in community renewable energy/energy efficiency programs and projects.  There will be a committee of businesses, organizations and individuals who will select the local reinvestment projects.YVSC is currently working on several partnerships to expand the program and will be posted on the website.
