A hot topic indeed – over 60 participants filled the Creekside Cafe for last night’s Talking Green event on Passive House design!

Speakers Todd Collins of AE Building Systems (Denver) and Eric Lobeck of Workshop L (Steamboat) enlightened the group on the tightest building design in existence. The term passive house (Passivhaus in German) refers to a rigorous, voluntary standard for energy efficiency in a building, reducing its ecological footprint. It results in ultra-low energy buildings that require little energy for space heating or cooling.

We also heard from Florian Speier of Zola Windows
