Waste Reduction Round-Up – August 19

Stop by to hear tips on how you can reduce waste at home. These short interactive presentations will bust several recycling myths and encourage you to think about lifecycle before you buy. A drawing for a plastic free zero-waste kit will take place at the end of the event. Need not be present to win.

To start off the day Tina Evans, CMC Professor of Sustainability Studies will discuss how reducing the generation of waste and diverting waste from landfills through reuse and recycling benefits our community and personal health as well as the health of the environment. She will share ideas and tips that can help you, your family, and your workplace contribute to waste reduction in the Yampa Valley.

Evans (Ph.D., Sustainability Education) is a Professor of Sustainability Studies at Colorado Mountain College where she teaches sustainability and permaculture courses as well as beekeeping. She was recently recognized as CMC faculty of the year and is a recipient of the campus sustainability research award given by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.
